Not all home inspectors can perform the task you need. Many of them lack the experience and training to properly identify problems. An unqualified inspector can scare you away from a home that is really okay and you should purchase, or, allow you to plunge unsuspectingly into a purchase you should not make. In 2006, in excess of 200 new registrants were approved by the State Home Inspection Board. Some of these will eventually join the ranks of the good, accomplished real estate inspectors; others will not.
